About the CougsFirst! Expo:

Friday, May 10, 10:30 am to 1:30 pm PDT

  • In Hyatt Regency Bellevue
  • After the Spring semester Finals!
  • Over 60 employers who are looking for WSU students and alumni to fill full-time jobs and/or internships!
  • Full Agenda:
    • 10:30 am-1:30 pm | Career Expo: for people looking to find a job or explore new opportunities with businesses who want to hire Cougs.
    • 11:30 am-1:00 pm | Power Lunch with Carson College of Business: Purchase a table or individual seat at our Power Lunch in partnership with the WSU Carson College of Business.
    • 1:30 pm-3:00 pm | Business Education: Attend free education and live interview sessions. Schedule TBA.
    • 3:00 pm-4:00 pm | WSU Keynote: Hear from WSU Chancellor Paul Pitre, Ph.D., for a State of the University Keynote Address.
    • 4:00 pm-7:00 pm | CougsFirst! Show: Trade show for Cougs and Coug Fans to come learn about products and services offered by Coug owned and managed businesses.
    • 6:00 pm-7:00 pm | Happy Hour: Enjoy drinks and appetizers with the purchase of a tasting wristband.
    • 7:30 pm-9:30 pm | CougsFirst! Show After Party: That night at the Kirkland Marina– Join fellow Cougs in visiting 3 different local, Coug-Owned businesses for an After Party to follow the CougsFirst! Show & Career Expo.
    • The keys to a successful expo experience are preparation and follow-up. Here is a checklist to help you prepare:

    • Research all participating employers through Handshake.
    • Attend career-prep workshops offered through the ASCC before the expo.
    • Have your resume reviewed during ASCC drop-in hours Monday-Friday, 2:00 – 4:00 pm in Lighty 180.
    • Prepare your 30-second introduction.
    • Dress professionally. First impressions are essential.
    • Bring several copies of your resume and have a PDF version available to send via email.
    • Don’t forget to ask employers for their business cards so you can follow up and send thank-you notes.
