BECOME A VSN PEER ADVISOR

Peer Advisors gain leadership experience, develop mentoring skills, and contribute to the success of fellow veterans, all while enhancing their own academic and professional journeys.

Peer Advisors are experienced student veterans who mentor Scholars and provide guidance based on their own academic and military journeys. They connect Scholars to campus and community resources, help navigate processes efficiently, and foster success in both college and post-graduation life. Through Veteran Scholars Network, Peer Advising Interns:

  • Gain valuable leadership and mentoring experience that strengthens their resumes and enhances diversity of academic experience.
  • Enhance their academic and professional skills, including communication, problem-solving, and networking.
  • Contribute to the success of fellow student veterans while developing a stronger sense of purpose and community at WSU.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior service in U.S. Armed Forces
  • Current WSU student, who has completed at least one academic semester at WSU
  • GPA of 2.5 or above
  • Interest in supporting peers in pursuing academic, financial, professional, and social/emotions goals
